Software Engineering Manager – Liverpool – Up to £90k + Bonus

A leading financial firm in the UK is in search of a new Software / Engineering Manager to drive the delivery of engineering and product functions. This role is suited for an experienced Engineering Manager or Head of Engineering who desires to join a fast-paced company, foster a robust engineering team, and influence technological advancements.

As the new Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for growing the internal team, promoting their products, and ensuring adherence to modern engineering practices to enhance performance.

What sets this business apart is its operation within microservices environments and lack of legacy platforms.

You will work closely with the CTO, playing a crucial role in shaping technology, platforms, and teams. The current tech stack includes C#, .NET Core, React, and Azure, with the team fully operating within microservices environments. In addition to leadership and managerial duties, you will be also be helping pushing teams / motivating the teams.
Required experience includes:

• Leading software development teams, including Frontend and backend teams.
• Developing and implementing technology strategies.
• Hiring software engineers (You will essentially be the first hire for this team and responsible for building out a full engineering function).
• Demonstrating strong technical knowledge of CI/CD Pipelines, Microservices environments, backend languages (C#, .NET), JavaScript (React or NextJS), and cloud technologies (Azure preferred).
• Collaborating closely with key stakeholders across the business on new product and platform development.
• Delivering high availability, high performance, high scalability, and high stability software applications and services.
