I’ve been working with this client for a number of years, and they have recently opened up a new Tech Hub in Coimbra where they have grown from 0–100 tech and engineering staff in a short period of time. Due to this rapid growth, they are now looking for a CIAM Engineer to help design and implement secure, scalable, and seamless identity solutions for their global user base.

 

About the Role:

 

As their CIAM Engineer, you will be responsible for shaping the customer authentication and identity experience across all platforms. You’ll work with best-in-class CIAM technologies to deliver secure, frictionless sign-up and login flows while ensuring compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities as their CIAM Engineer:

 

  • Design, implement, and manage CIAM solutions across multiple regions and platforms.
  • Configure and integrate identity platforms such as Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD B2C), Okta, Auth0, or ForgeRock with core applications.
  • Work with privileged access management (PAM) solutions such as CyberArk to secure critical systems and accounts.
  • Build secure login, registration, MFA, and passwordless authentication flows.
  • Apply standards and protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM.
  • Collaborate with product, security, and engineering teams to ensure identity is central to the customer experience.
  • Stay ahead of industry best practices for identity governance, access controls, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, CCPA, PCI-DSS).
  • Contribute to a culture of security-first engineering while balancing usability and performance.
