Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role:
We’re currently recruiting a Cyber Security Engineer on behalf of our client, a forward-thinking organisation based in Manchester. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working both remotely and on-site, and is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 2 years of experience in cybersecurity and strong hands-on expertise with Splunk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and respond to security incidents using Splunk and other SIEM tools

  • Conduct threat detection, analysis, and incident response

  • Support the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures across infrastructure

  • Work with internal teams to assess vulnerabilities and implement appropriate fixes

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with industry standards and supporting security audits

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a cybersecurity role

  • Strong knowledge of security principles, tools, and best practices

  • Hands-on experience with Splunk for monitoring and analysis

  • Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection solutions

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset
