This is a rare chance to step out of traditional IT support and into a hands-on, technically focused security role where you’ll be working directly with cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps/security tooling. You’ll be joining a growing tech function that is reshaping the way security is delivered across the business - focusing on protecting production AWS cloud systems rather than day-to-day device support or compliance.

- Monitor and improve security across production AWS cloud environments.
- Work closely with DevOps on threat detection, configuration-as-code, and cloud security controls.
- Investigate and respond to security alerts using logs, dashboards, and tooling (e.g., Cloudflare, AWS security groups).
- Identify risks, misconfigurations, and anomalies in logs or infrastructure and recommend improvements.
- Support continuous hardening of infrastructure through tools like Terraform, CLI workflows, and automation.
- Contribute to building scalable, secure infrastructure aligned with best practice.
This role is perfect for someone coming from a technical support, networking, or junior systems/DevOps background who has already started investing in cyber/security skills.
You should have:
- Experience in IT support, service desk, networking, or infrastructure (2nd/3rd line).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).
- Hands-on experience with Linux or command line tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS ideal, but Azure/GCP also fine).
- An interest in automation, IaC, DevOps tooling, and learning AWS security in real environments.
- CompTIA Security+, Network+, CySA+, or similar security certifications.
- Experience with any of the following:
- Terraform
- Cloudflare
- Containers
- Scripting (Python/Bash/PowerShell)
- Security labs, hands-on exercises, or home-lab projects.
- Focused on real technical security, not box-ticking.
- Exposure to modern cloud and DevOps tooling from day one.
