Head of Engineering – Tech for Good / Health Tech Scale up

Location: Manchester | Salary: £100k–£120k + Equity

You will join an already highly successful organisation headed up by a founder with a track record of scaling businesses. Financially secure, with organic growth, there is no reliance on outside investment.

This year they have been aligning the teams to become cross functional and product focused. With everyone now on the same page, they are ready for a Head of Engineering to come in and take them to the next level in 2026.

About You:

  • Experienced in leading engineering teams through start-up to scale-up transitions.
  • Technically background in modern engineering practices and principles, including a JavaScript/TypeScript AWS tech stack.
  • Passionate about mentoring and scaling high-performing teams.
  • Previous experience with AI and building LLMs.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

What You’ll Deliver:

  • Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering function.
  • Drive strategic product initiatives, including AI components.
  • Implement scalable processes while maintaining team agility and innovation.

The team are based in central Manchester with hybrid working. It’s a collaborative environment with the team coming in twice a week.
