Role: IT Support Engineer 
Location: Rotherham – Hybrid 
Salary: £22,000 - £29,000

My client is seeking to add an IT Support Engineer to their team on a permanent basis.

As an IT Support Engineer, you will primarily operate within a helpdesk environment, providing technical support to employees and clients. You will be responsible for recording and managing logged incidents and queries, ensuring they are resolved within agreed SLAs.

In addition to your helpdesk responsibilities, you will support the team with various technical tasks, including networking, server management, workstation setup, and system monitoring.

Roles and responsibilities for the IT Support Engineer

  • Provide technical support through the helpdesk, addressing and resolving IT issues for staff, sub-contractors, and customers.
  • Log and manage support tickets in the IT Support system (Service Desk Plus), ensuring prioritization and timely resolution.
  • Monitor and maintain existing IT systems, keeping all relevant information up to date.
  • Deliver remote support efficiently and securely to resolve issues.
  • Oversee the management of IT hardware and software assets, including new acquisitions and existing inventory.


Required Skills

  • Active Directory, Exchange, Microsoft 365
  • Office 365, including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
  • Helpdesk problems, Log tickets (Service Desk Plus)
  • Monitor and update existing IT systems, ensuring all relevant information is current.
  • Manage IT hardware and software assets, both new and existing.
