Lead Developer
(Shopify / Adobe / Magento / BigCommerce)
£50k–£75k (DOE)
2 days a week in Manchester (NQ)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Lead Developer to join an internationally recognised digital agency! With nearly £30 million in new investment and ambitious plans to expand into new markets, there’s plenty of room for growth and progression.
As the Lead Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in building bespoke commerce platforms, primarily using Adobe and Magento. Experience with Shopify or BigCommerce is a big plus, as the client is keen to diversify their tech stack. You’ll work closely with both internal and external stakeholders on long-term projects—translating requirements, leading from the front, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver digital solutions to customers.
What will you be working on?
- Defining the architectural direction of key projects and ensuring technical alignment with business goals
- Leading a squad of three other developers to build headless commerce solutions using PHP, Adobe Commerce, Magento, Shopify, or BigCommerce
- Supporting and mentoring your team, setting coding standards, and shaping system architecture
(Don’t worry if you’re not experienced in all these platforms—whether you're a specialist in one or have a broad background, there are multiple roles open across teams.)
What’s in it for you?
- Salary up to £75,000 (DOE) – ideal for someone already at Lead level or ready to step up
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays
- 6 personal development days per year (with an individual development fund)
- Hybrid working: 2 days per week in their Manchester City Centre office + flexible hours
- Workplace nursery scheme, health cash plan, life assurance, company socials, and more
This role would suit someone from a consultancy, agency, or software background who’s excited to work on major projects using cutting-edge commerce tech.
