It’s never been more challenging to recruit IT talent. Unemployment is at its lowest levels since 1975, and tech skills are the highest in demand. Plus, as more and more large employers move North, everyone is feeling the squeeze. As technology recruiters, we’ve seen this first-hand, and know how important it is for our clients to attract the next generation rising through the ranks. But Generation Z comes with its own considerations. Many businesses say their story and culture are unique, but what does this mean for their people? Backing these claims up with firm foundations has become critical to attracting, engaging and hiring young talent. A handful of companies are leading the way in this regard, either in terms of how they recruit or how they pave the way for other businesses to get ‘Gen-Z-ready’. So we invited them to share their experiences over drinks and Domino’s at our latest Trusted Tech Talk.
Find our more about the event here.
After a sell-out event in April "The DNA of High-Performing Teams", Maxwell Bond have teamed up with Digital Transformers Manchester!
About this Event:
Maxwell Bond & Digital Transformers Manchester will be hosting an event on Thursday, 29th August on the topic "What is Digital Transformation Really?"
We have x4 excellent speakers from SkyLab, Footasylum, Naimuri & Barclay!
Pizza & Drinks are available on the night!
One of our biggest goals at Maxwell Bond is to create a community of local commercial leaders and nurture their success. Our core business is of course recruitment, but we have always strived to offer much more value than this by providing unique insight. After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from the Gen Z Event, we wanted to follow up with something equally relevant while helping people to create high-performing teams.
We devote ourselves to building high-performing teams and placing candidates in environments where people matter. With this in mind, we were delighted to host an event led by Professor Damian Hughes, an acclaimed business coach who helps companies develop high-performance dynamics.
The Barcelona Way, Damian’s book on the DNA of a winning culture, covers the methodology and philosophy behind FC Barcelona’s approach to teamwork.
97% of employers admit their tech roles lack diversity meanwhile 3,948 are on a career break from tech, 79% received no support when returning to work. The numbers don't add up.
Join us on Thursday 7th November 2019 at Eagle Labs Manchester as we launch the results of our research into women returners and their economic impact on the technology industry. We'll be lifting the lid on the real figures which represent women returners in technology, the challenge for employers and speaking to real returners sharing their experiences and shining a spotlight on the people behind the statistics. We'll also be hosting information sessions for employers who'd like to learn more about accessing returner talent for their businesses after the event, along with informal networking.
Maxwell Bond and their strategic partners are here to help you through contractor reform and provide expert, precise, and accurate information to help you prepare for April 2020. The workshop will cover liability flow, risk management, how to financially and legally protect your business and what you need to do next.
On Wednesday 15th January, Maxwell Bond were joined by NCC Group's Paul Vlissidis (as seen on Channel 4's Hunted), N. Brown's Mike Koss, and Simon from GCHQ to explore the most prominent issues emerging in the cyber sector as we move into 2020.
Discussions included:
Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) in the tech sector is improving slowly, however, there is still a long way to go. A diverse workforce has been proven to improve productivity, creativity, company culture, and problem solving, and is something that businesses should therefore be focusing on.
The technology sector is still vastly male dominated, but gradually we are seeing more women in leadership roles within the industry. The aim of our event is for some of those women to share their stories and experiences of struggle and success to inspire all women working within tech, and other traditionally male-dominated spaces. With a focus on defeating impostor syndrome, confidence, the value of diversity, and a career journey workshop, our event aims to send both men and women away, equipped with the knowledge and information on how to diversify their workforce and how to support all women in the workplace.
The team are dropping off our Christmas Present collection at Wood Street MIssion on Wednesday 9th December, which will help make sure every child has a Christmas present to open on Christmas morning this year!
