Client Relationship Manager
Sector: Payroll / Contractor Services
Location: Manchester – Hybrid
Salary: £30,000 + £15,000 commission
We’re working with an established business in the contractor services market that is looking to add a Client Relationship Manager to its Manchester team.
This is a good opportunity for someone with a strong outbound sales background who wants to move into a role with more ownership of client relationships, while still having a clear commercial focus and earning potential.
You’ll inherit a portfolio of warm recruitment agency clients, with responsibility for building relationships, generating referrals and identifying opportunities to grow those accounts. It’s not a traditional desk-based Account Management role either – you’ll be encouraged to get out and meet clients regularly.
The role
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing recruitment agency clients.
- Proactively contact clients to generate referrals and identify new opportunities.
- Build relationships across your accounts through phone, email, LinkedIn and face-to-face meetings.
- Understand client requirements and identify opportunities to cross-sell and grow accounts.
- Work towards clear sales and activity targets, including outbound calls and talk time.
- Attend regular client meetings, events and hospitality.
- Manage your own pipeline and account performance.
Package
- £30,000 basic salary.
- £15,000+ commission potential.
- Manchester-based role with regular client visits.
- Established client portfolio to develop.
- Clear opportunity to progress within a growing commercial team.
Ideal profile
- At least 12 months’ outbound sales experience.
- Proven track record of working towards sales KPIs and targets.
- Comfortable proactively picking up the phone and creating opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Commercial mindset – able to spot opportunities rather than simply service accounts.
- Experience in B2B sales, recruitment, financial services, insurance, telecoms or another target-driven sales environment would translate well.
- Confident meeting clients face-to-face and managing multiple relationships.
If you’re performing well in an outbound sales role but want the opportunity to build longer-term client relationships, get out and meet customers and still be rewarded commercially, this could be a really good next step.
