We're working with a growing technology business looking to make their first dedicated data hire.
Data has always played an important role within the company, but ownership currently sits across other areas of the business. As growth continues, they're investing in a Senior Data Engineer who wants to take ownership of the data function and build strong foundations for the future.
This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to shape data infrastructure, influence tooling decisions, and create scalable solutions that support reporting, analytics, and future machine learning initiatives.
What you'll be doing
- Building and maintaining robust data pipelines
- Developing and managing data warehousing solutions
- Improving data quality, governance, and integrity across the business
- Supporting reporting and analytics requirements
- Preparing datasets for future machine learning projects
- Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation
- Helping establish long-term data platform capabilities
What we're looking for
- Strong experience as a Data Engineer in a commercial environment
- Advanced SQL and Python skills
- Experience building and optimising data pipelines
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts
- Experience working within AWS environments
- Ability to operate independently and take ownership of technical decisions
- Exposure to machine learning environments
- Experience supporting data science initiatives
- Startup or scale-up experience
- Strong academic background in mathematics, engineering, Computer science, or a related discipline
