Senior Platform Engineer

Location: Liverpool - Hybrid
Salary: Up to £75,000

Maxwell Bond have partnered with a well-established financial services organisation in the North West who are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join their growing cloud engineering function.

This is a hands-on platform engineering role aligned to a future move into a junior architecture position. You'll work closely with senior technical leadership, taking ownership of cloud infrastructure and platform components across a structured engineering environment, while developing your architectural thinking over time.

The business operates within a mature engineering setup with strong governance, frameworks and delivery processes, offering the right environment for an experienced cloud or DevOps engineer looking to step up into an architecture-facing career path.

What you'll do as Senior Platform Engineer:

Design, build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services across enterprise environments, supporting end-to-end delivery of cloud-based solutions.
Work hands-on across infrastructure, networking, security and cloud platform components.
Collaborate with senior engineers and architecture leadership to contribute to platform design and technical decision-making in a structured environment.

What they're looking for:

Proven experience as a Senior Cloud Engineer, Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer within a structured engineering environment.
Strong hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, security and platform engineering (AWS or Azure preferred)
Experience working within a medium to large engineering teams with exposure to governed delivery processes and architectural thinking.
