This is a newly created role with the chance to become the go-to expert for automation within a highly collaborative engineering team.

Rather than inheriting a mature testing function, you'll have the opportunity to shape it.

You'll lead the evolution of the company's automated testing capability, influence best practices, improve quality standards and help embed automation throughout the software development lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading the migration from Cypress to Playwright
  • Building and maintaining scalable automation frameworks
  • Embedding automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
  • Working closely with software engineers to improve quality and testability
  • Driving testing best practices across the wider engineering team
  • Identifying opportunities to improve delivery quality, efficiency and reliability
  • Helping shape the long-term automation strategy

About You

You'll likely come from a background such as:

  • Senior SDET
  • Software Development Engineer in Test
  • Lead Automation Engineer
  • QA Automation Lead
  • Senior Automation Test Engineer

You will need the following skills and experience:

  • Strong commercial Playwright experience
  • Built or enhanced automation frameworks in production environments
  • Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong TypeScript or JavaScript skills
  • A proactive approach to improving engineering quality
  • The confidence to influence teams and introduce best practices
