Last year, we reached a milestone that meant a huge amount to everyone at Maxwell Bond.

After almost a decade of fundraising, volunteering, challenges, events and plenty of questionable office bake-offs, we hit £20,000 raised for charity for the first time just before Christmas.

We were incredibly proud.

This year, we've done it again—but this time, it's only August.

Maxwell Bond has officially hit £20,000 raised for charity in 2026, with almost five months of the year still to go.

And we're nowhere near finished yet.

 

From Small Beginnings to £20,000 a Year

Giving back has always been an important part of Maxwell Bond.

Looking back at our fundraising journey over the last ten years shows just how much that commitment has grown. What started with smaller fundraising activities has developed year after year, with our team finding new ways to raise money, volunteer their time and support organisations doing incredible work within our communities.

In 2020, our cumulative fundraising reached around £5,000. By 2022, we'd passed £10,000. At the end of 2024, we'd reached approximately £16,000.

Then came 2025.

For the first time in Maxwell Bond's history, we reached the £20,000 milestone just before Christmas.

To have already matched that fundraising achievement by August 2026 is something we're incredibly proud of.

 

More Than Raising Money

While hitting £20,000 is an amazing achievement, charity and community work at Maxwell Bond has never just been about the number.

This year alone, our team has supported our communities in all sorts of ways.

We've donated laptops to schools across Greater Manchester, helping give young people greater access to technology. Members of the team spent a volunteer day at Manchester Dogs' Home, walking and spending time with some very deserving four-legged residents.

We've continued supporting the brilliant work of Forever Manchester, attending both its Birthday Party and Forever Funny events, while members of the team have also taken on physical challenges—including the Manchester 10K in support of The Christie and a 5K inflatable obstacle course.

Then there are the slightly less serious ways we've been raising money.

Pancake Day, Easter egg hunts, quizzes, bake-offs, annual leave raffles and office bingo have all helped keep the fundraising total moving upwards while bringing everyone together at the same time.

Even our Client Summer Party got involved, with incredibly generous donations from our clients and guests helping us reach this latest milestone.

To everyone who donated: thank you. It was massively appreciated and has contributed to something we're incredibly proud of.

 

Giving Our Time as Well as Our Money

One of the things we've focused on increasingly over recent years is finding different ways to give back.

Fundraising is incredibly important, but sometimes giving your time, skills or resources can be just as valuable.

Our team receives opportunities to volunteer and support causes directly, whether that's getting out into the community, taking part in fundraising challenges or using company events to raise awareness and donations.

It also gives us the opportunity to support a variety of causes rather than focusing on just one area—from local schools and community organisations to animal welfare and cancer charities.

That's something we want to continue building on.

 

What Can We Achieve by December?

That's now the exciting question.

When we finally reached £20,000 just before Christmas last year, it felt like a brilliant way to finish the year.

Reaching the same milestone in August 2026 means we're entering completely new territory.

We've still got plenty of fundraising events, charity initiatives, volunteering and challenges planned for the remainder of the year—and knowing our team, probably a few competitive office fundraisers that haven't been invented yet.

We don't know exactly where the total will land by December.

But we can't wait to find out.
